ESL / TEFL

Most newcomers will need fairly comprehensive (i.e. a 120 hour) TEFL, TOEFl or CELTA certificate, or even better a Canadian certified ESL online or otherwise qualification, to find TEFL work in Vancouver. Beware though as there is a wide range of ESL school here, as it’s a very big business with so many Asians here to learn English, and many schools are sub-standard and abuse workers. The reputable ones that pay well usually require ‘Canadian TEFL’ certification.

If you have two or more years of teaching experience then that leans massively in your favour. Also, while your looking for something stable, you can also advertise your tutoring services on Craigslist.

Hi, I wish to find out more about TEFL jobs available in Vancouver. I have a 80 hour TEFL Certificate qualification through the i-to-i website. I also have a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in English and Legal Science, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Honours Degree and a Higher Diploma in English. I would love to gain some TEFL work experience in Vancouver. I will be available for work from Monday November 21st onwards.
    Thanks

    Megan
